an entropy of one’s own comes together as an installation comprising objects as both acoustic sound sources and sculptural forms. Making sense of the unpredictability of existence, personal memory, and the complexity of sociopolitical contexts, the work conceptually draws on the tension of unresolved processes in entropy, a phantom-like omnipresence reflecting as a reminder that everything is in a perpetual state of flux. Exploring forms and materials undergoing continuous shifts, the work builds on sonic exchange between three vibrating copper plates with rice grains surrounded by clay pots turned into speakers. Through repurposing and transducing them as instruments, the passage towards entropy is sensed through sound energy. By examining the dissipation of energy spreading across multiple microstates, the focus is on how harmonic complexity shapes the listening experience and reflects the entropic process. The installation works outside temporal constraints, using cyclical patterns to define an unending musical structure. Inviting intimacy and tuning, it acts as a fountain that can support one’s unique process of resolution.
