This installation/performance takes the form of a picnic as a gesture to activate and share an archive through storytelling, listening, myth, taste, smell and rest. It offers a playful space to explore the potentials of non-linear strategies in the preservation of memory making in the context of colonial and post-colonial experience. It is about the importance of the body as archive, orality and food in the preservation of identity and a sense of home. Playing with what Anjali Arondekar terms “re-presenting absence,” the work hosts those that have been lost or silenced as guests of honour at the picnic.

Time: the performance starts at 15.00 sharp (please arrive on time as the picnic will take place in a location we will walk together to in Tiergarten).
Meeting point: HAUNT/frontviews courtyard patio
Duration: 2 (+/-) hours
What: A short performance followed by a hosted picnic together which you will be a part of, but not required to perform anything! The invitation is to be present, listen, rest, eat and share the space together.
Bread will be provided for the picnic – please bring some food which reminds you of home to put on it or mop up with it.
Access: The picnic will require walking to nearby Tiergarten (c.10-12 minutes), and to sit on the floor. Chairs/stools/cushions will not be provided, but you are open to bring your own if you need. Food allergies cannot be accommodated or taken responsibility for.
