Estrategias de Regeneracion: Una Perspectiva Biológica
As part of the Global Dystopia symposium, Carlos Borghi presents Das Leben findet seinen Weg (“Life Finds a Way”), an in-depth exploration of the biological principles behind the Pampas del Zonda research station in the Andes Mountains.
The lecture examines how infrastructure design can move beyond a human-centered approach to become integrated with the life cycles of local wildlife. Through a scientific and technical perspective, it explores the creation of habitats that foster resilience and biodiversity in arid landscapes, transforming architecture into a tool for ecosystem regeneration in response to global environmental challenges.

Dr. Carlos Borghi holds a PhD in Biological Sciences and is a researcher at CONICET and Full Professor in the Department of Biology at the National University of San Juan (UNSJ). He directs CIGEOBIO (UNSJ–CONICET) and the INTERBIODES research group (Biological Interactions in the Desert). Together with Dr. Stella Giannoni, he co-directs the Pampas del Zonda research station. His research focuses on biological interactions in arid ecosystems.
