Lílian Campesato and Valéria Bonafé Microfonias: invention and sharing of listening

Symposium exhibition

Developed by artists and researchers Lílian Campesato and Valéria Bonafé, Microfonias: Invention and Sharing of Listening is a practice-based research project that integrates artistic creation with critical inquiry. Through relational practices, we explore and reflect on the ethical, poetic, and political dimensions inherent in listening. From the outset, our work has been grounded in non-conventional methodologies, including recorded conversations, audio testimonies, artistic correspondences, affective reports from listening, and experiments with alternative writing formats, among others. Our most recent research, Dis-inhabit Listenings: Listening in Dispute in Cracolândia, engages a series of participatory artistic actions to foster critical reflection on an urban reality marked by profound social, economic, and political inequalities. The project also envisions new modes of listening to the complex relationships, conflicts, and interactions among people, places, and contexts.
