The video documents a controlled burning of home-built electronic sound equipment while it remains powered on and actively producing sound. The work documents accelerated material breakdown within electronic systems as a real-time observable phenomenon.
Will Mullany (Molasses Industries) is a Virginia based musician, instrument builder and multi-disciplinary artist. Through hand-built electronics, installations and the corporate surrealist synthesizer outlet Molasses Industries, he explores controlled technological failure, embodied electronics, and absurdist inversion of conventional design norms around control.
