Presentation
In the face of current planetary challenges, the prospect of utopias capable of inspiring hope is once again coming to the fore. Beyond cynicism and apocalyptic sentiments, it must be possible to live together in solidarity and community as a basis for civilizational and ecological survival. Utopias are no eternal deferrals of a better tomorrow, nor blueprints for a perfect society, but rather attempts to draw concrete perspectives of transformation in the here and now. In an increasingly complex world, utopias can only be conceived as multi-perspectival. The interdisciplinary exhibition and publication project Utopia: The Right to Hope at Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg (September 27, 2025 – January 11, 2026) presented artistic models and projects that set an example for hope and confidence in how a more just and sustainable life in the 21st century can be achieved.
Dino Steinhof studied fine arts at the University of Fine Arts Münster and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. He completed his studies with a postgraduate master’s degree in Art in Context at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). From 2021 to 2022, he was a research intern at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, working as a curatorial assistant on numerous solo and group exhibitions. Since 2023, Steinhof has been a curatorial assistant to Dr. Andreas Beitin, director of the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg. Together with him, Dino Steinhof cocurated the monographic exhibition Leandro Erlich: Weightless (2024), the thematic group exhibition Utopia: The Right to Hope (2025, together with Dr. Sebastian Mühl), as well as the solo exhibition Julian Charrière: Midnight Zone (2026).
